The term ‘Caprile’ is Italian and means ‘small goat barn’, which is actually situated close to the location. Due to climatic changes, the space once used as a meadow is now a vineyard comprising 2.5 ha., where according to the highest standard of quality, the grapes of Müller Thurgau are grown. The advantageous altitude of the vineyard on limestone soil, the slightly declining slope, and the ideal solar radiation enable the grapes of our Müller Thurgau CAPRILE to thrive.

The name derives from ‘Conte Crivelli’, the leading member of an old noble family from the antique village Magrè s.s.d.v. in the lowlands of Alto Adige. Under optimal conditions this extraordinary Chardonnaysince 1933 trained on wire frames (Guyot) – grows on limey and shingly-sandy soils on the foothills of the scree of the municipality of Magrè s.s.d.v. The advantageous microclimate in the Vigna Crivelli – with significant differences between day and night temperatures – is particularly influenced by the strong fall wind from the Favogna. Furthermore, the good ventilation of the grapes from the daily wind ‘Ora’ from the south and the solar radiation, guarantee the exquisite quality of this elegant grape variety.
